\015 How to get the front drive shaft past the sway bar on an 04 f150\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 15-01-2018

Answers :

It comes out without lowering the sway bar
you unbolt both ends of the shaft and pull the front part out past the front diff towards the front of the engine and the rear part of the shaft will just fall out if you cant figure it out
just remove the 4 15mm bolts that hold the sway bar to the frame and it will lower enough that will get it out no problem at all

I have been having front end problems, I was told both wheel hubs are bad and 1 outer tie rod, also that sway bar bushings are bad. I have been driving as little as possible til I can get fixed but tonight my traction turned off as well as the abs indicater and a message saying service traction control, I had noticed prior to this that when braking my traction would make noise and sometimes kick in. My pacifica is making a humming noise, I think in the front end. It gets loud at about 55mph and sounds like it is oscilating, soft to loud. After you get to about 70m the humming becomes constant. We replaced the front left axle, but this did not help. We just bought the vehicle, and were unable to drive it faster than 50mph during the test drive due to the area we were in. As soon as we got on the interstate with it coming home, we heard the noise. It is a 2006. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a 1999 Ford Explorer XLT, 2 wheel drive,4.0 V-6. I have had this annoying knock from the front end when you drive over small bumps. We have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Quadra Trac II. However, the 4 wheel drive feature is not working. 4LO works. However it is supposed to be ALL TIME 4 wheel drive with engine torque transmitted to the front driveshaft when needed. This is not working. When driving in the snow only the back wheels are spinning. Engine torque does not get transmitted to the front. I had not had any trouble with the 4 wheel drive feature until this winter.

Also just had 4 new tires put on. The car drives awesome on dry or wet pavement but when I drive on snow, it is all over the place and feels like the back end keeps whipping around on me. Its almost scary driving it. Any ideas??? It never did this before I hit the curb.
