Having problems with your 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier ?

I have a 2004 cavalier . The main wiper arm

\015 I have a 2004 cavalier . The main wiper arm linkage separated from the wiper moter. It appears that a plastic bushing holding the rotary arm to the drivers side wiper either broke or wore outor became dislodged... Also it appears that there is a rubber gromet washer that fits around the inside of the of the wiper arm...that is my question. Does the rubber bushing go onto the interior part of the wiper arm that goes back and forth in a rotary fashion?? I went to Auto Zone and got a universal kit ....wiper linkage bushing assortment by Dorman Help!! Parts...The wiper now works with a little delay or hitch...possibly because the rubber washer was not inserted on the wiper control arm???? If someone out there knows, please let me know!!! Thanks so much!!! Mark\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 11-12-2017

That would absolutely be your problem the action of the arm has not changed but without the bushing in there to take up the slack the wipers will work with that "hitch" as there is excess space to allow it to move around. Also that bushing is in there to prevent premature wear, so I would suggest getting another or renistalling the old one.
The only option to fix this correctly is to go to the dealer. The dealer will have schematics for all the parts and you can order it. This is your best option if you want this problem to not happen again.
