Had the same problem last year. replaced the burned out fuse located in\015\012the glove box - BTSI fuse (automatic transaxle **** lock control )
Makes sense. Also, look up under the dash, on the "arm" that the brake pedal is mounted on. There should be several switches up there (one of which is probably the shift lock control). Make sure that when you press the pedal down, any switch being pressed by this action is pressed straight and completely. If one of them is out of alignment, it could mean the car can't tell that you're pressing the brake down, and therefore won't let the car out of gear (or won't realize it's in park and will lock the key in the ignition).
