Having problems with your 2003 Oldsmobile Alero ?

I put my key in the ignition and it wouldn't turn the ignition at all. The key looked fine just like it always does. I made sure the car was in park and all the other standard stuff.

This sounds like a common problem with the Alero. The Pass Lock sensor goes bad. This sensor communicates with the Body control module to allow or disallow the key to send power to the ignition and the starter motor. At night with your lights on try to start the car. If the headlights do not noticeably dim there is no starter load on the system and it is a very good bet that the pass lock sensor is the problem. we have had it happen twice now on our Alero.
Hello. Move the shifter to neutral and then put it into park with more force. Try the key. Forcefully turn the steering wheel left and right. Then Repeat each step with even more force if necessary. Joe
