Having problems with your 2003 Nissan Murano ?

Does oil need to be removed when changing a fuel injector.

\015 '03 Nissan Murano AWD SE . A fuel injector was replaced 4 weeks ago, is it likely the mechanic drained the oil before replacing the injector. I just added 3 litres after engine light came on and a ticking sound under hard acceleration.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 16-10-2017

Answers :

If the fuel injector was filling the cyl with fuel due to a stuck open injector you should change oil due to fuel in the crank case. If the injector was not working at all you would not have to worry about it.
If it was me i would change oil and filter so you know work you got to start fresh with. have a good holiday.
Theres no reason for the technician to have drained your oil to replace an injector. Thats not part of the replacement procedure. I would call the repair place to had the work done and ask them if they drained your oil. If not, check your oil every couple of days for a week or so, and see if the oil level is dropping again. If it is, get the car checked, if not, then most likely somebody was playing games with you. I've seen that happen before, so the garage can drum up more business.
