Lexus ls430 vsc light/cel after camshaft seal change

\015 I've replaced my timing belt which later only to find out that my camshaft seals were leaking after clocking certain mileage. Heres the thing. I sent my car to a local mechanic to replace the cam/crankshaft seals altogether recently without changing the belt. All marking has been done during parts removal. After all done, I found the VSC/CEL on my dash. The mechanic have absolutely no idea what went wrong and he swore all installation of parts are in the right order. I've also requested him to open up all the timing covers so that i can verify timing. Everything looked fine. The code I got is camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction. It didn't help even after I replace the cam sensor which is sitted next to the cam sprocket. Can you please advise what else could be the culprit? As I understand, the mechanic would need to remove the camshafts to replace the seals. Even with markings could it lead to improper installation? Or something he did wasn't right? Please help..\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 16-10-2017
