When to replace timing chain on 2003 cavalier

Normally you don't have to replace the timing chain unless it develops excessive slack in it. They aren't like timing belts that are recommended to be changed at different intervals depending upon the manufacturer. If your milage isn't excessive then you should be fine. If the car has high miles you can have it checked to see if it has too much slack in it. Hope that helps.
Hi there, you wont have to replace you timing chain unless your cavalier has very high miles or if it is ratteling. There is no set timing chain replacement interval. Chains are supposed to last the life of the engine. Hope this answers your question. Cheers Ben
