Having problems with your 2002 Mazda Tribute ?

I have a 2002 Mazda Tribute LX V6, 111,000 miles. SUV started misfiring about 2 weeks ago, checked for error, discovered misfire at #2 and #5. Decided to change all the spark plugs and replace ignition coil after testing and finding 2 and 5 where not working. After doing the repair, I changed the manifold gaskets. Sounds like you have a large vacume leak
Same problems here. Just changed out ignition coils. You didn't mention whether you'd done the catalytic converter...I seem to recall that helping out awhile back. However, what just happened to me recently was that my coils were bad again and that may have toasted the alternator (which was thankfully under warranty...have them check at your auto parts store.) Anyhow...new coils and a new alternator and now it's happening AGAIN. Thing is, she only runs so long and then it just starts all over. I love my car, but from my own experience and others' here, I'm thinking that this may just be the way it is. Hope this helps.
Oh, I meant to say that with the braking issue all of a sudden, I would have the battery checked and of course, the alternator. (One component screwing up fouls out another, fouls out another, etc. and here we are going in circles.) BTW, Autozone can check the battery in the SUV, but I was told I'd have to pull the alternator for them to be able to check it. Mine's a 2002 Tribute LX.
