What you may be experiencing is a part called a "Boo" switch in car slang. In order to shift out of Park, it is necessary to put your foot on the Brake pedal. The part you are having problems with is suppose to tell the vehicle that your foot is on the pedal. You may also find that your Brake lights are out too!

It is common for the Drivers' feet to hit this switch located on the top of the Brake pedal lever and dislodge or break it. When it breaks, any number of crossed wires result which may break the fuses. This is why some electric things do not work now.

Replacing the broken fuses should restore what does not work. Replacing the "Boo" switch is a simple process and it is usually a plug-in part.

You can get a free wiring diagram after registering your truck with Autozone.com. Fusebox layouts are also free and it will help you to determine which size fuse is needed to restore power and where that fuse goes.

I hope my solution is helpful.
