Having problems with your 2002 Hyundai Accent ?

DOES NOT SHIFT AFTER SECOND GEAR. IT'S AN AUTOMATIC. CHANGED TRANS FLUID AND THERE IS NO SIGN OF SHAVINGS.

Answers :

If the fluid was real dark and the car has shifting problems then the tranny is already cooked.

\015\012If it's a manual transmission you may have a bad synchro causing this or a bent shift fork. More likely a bad synchro. You can try rebuilding it but it's likely to not work.

\015\012If it's an automatic, just plan on replacing it. We mess with these up and down at the dealership and in the end the labor and parts are just cheaper to replace the tranny with a remanufactured one. Labor for diagnosis is about an hour, and labor to replace it should be about 5 hours.
