There is a refrigerant low pressure switch that prevents the compressor from funning until there is a minimum Freon/oil level. Most A/C repairs end up with unseen leaks causing this problem. There is a connector at the compressor that you can check for power when you start it, if it is low on refrigerant then there will be no power. If you are familiar with the A/C system you can find the PSI switch and jumper the two wires together this will bypass the low psi switch and start the compressor. But you still need Freon. I once used a product from Interdynamics called Arctic Freeze with leak stop. A year later is still works!
Must check the ac relay and fuses before jumping to the climate control, due to lack of information don't just take it to any body, recommend specialist on AC only
