Having problems with your 2002 Chevrolet Malibu ?
Car is overheating and i replaced the intake manifold gaskets
Did you replace the thermostat? Take off the radiator cap and see if this helps. Sometimes the caps also go bad. Warm up the engine after you make sure there is plenty of coolant in the radiator. Look into the radiator and make sure the water in circulating when it is running. If it is not, it could be you water pump, or thermostat is stuck and not opening. Be careful not to burn yourself and do not let the motor get to hot.

I have been having problems with my car leaking and overheating for some months now. I first replaced my thermostat, which worked for awhile. Then once the problem resumed, I changed my upper radiator hose. But that has not worked either. A few mechanics told me it was my intake manifold gasket. So I took it to a mechanic told him what the problem was, and he gave me a good deal. After he took everything apart, he said my intake was good, but i had a bad head gasket, so he replaced both the inta

Turned off car, tried to start again and didnt. removed upper manifold, full of coolant. drained, cleaned up and replaced manifold, spark plugs, oil. tried to start and it cranks and almost starts, but just wont turn over. mechanic said plugs are getting a spark etc. Thinks it may be a head gasket. Any ideas? Thanks

2001 Chevy Malibu have had intake manifold gasket replaced twice since buying car in 2002. I drove it to work fine, coming home( only 5 miles away) steam coming out from the hood. The resevoir (coolant) had a small crack in it. Replaced the resevoir, as I was adding coolant and started the car it was making weird noise. My husband checked the oil dipstick- water in the oil. We have put so much money into this car, costs 80.00 just for a diagnostic test. Is it a head gasket? or Intake manifold ga

I have a 2005 Monte Carlo. It started overheating so I put it in shop and they replaced the intake manifold gasket, water pump, radiator, thermostat, and radiator cap. The guy at the shop told me to watch it for a couple of days when I picked it up. I got less than a mile down the road and it overheated again. I brought it home and we bled it ourselves. The heater blows cold when it first starts after bleeding it for 20 minutes or so it blows hot but when you turn off the car and restart it

We had to replace the water intake manifold. It had a crack in it. When I called to talk to a service manger for advice, he informed me in his many years of experience with Saturn he has replaced many gaskets, but never the intake manifold itself. He asked if the car had ever been in an accident, which could cause the crack. Yes the car was in a frontend accident about one n half years before the repair was needed. Could this be true?
