Having problems with your 2001 Toyota Camry ?

I have a leak in my exhaust pipe but my catalytic converter is fine and the toyota dealer wanted me to replace allof it for $1200. I think this is unneccessary why not just fix the hole. I want to take it to a mechanic that will weld and fix the leak.

I believe you are right, you can just fix the leak in your exhaust pipe. You can have it covered by an exhaust pipe plate and weld it over the hole, saving your 1200
dollars. I also have a car, and that is exactly what I did.
Do the second option , there is no need to change the cat. its working perfect , and this is whats the most expensive iten on the exhaust , the dealer is the most expensive place to go anyway , isnt they an exhast and tyre centre to go to for a second opinion .
\015\0121200 buck is far far to dear when its just a hole , plus i know the cat can be removed and reused on the new pipe if neededs
