Having problems with your 2001 Mercury Cougar ?

A qualified technician did service to the transmission of my car and work well over 400 miles and suddenly it works only reverse and front not which can be the problem?

Most likely the service had nothing to do with it, it has just failed from old age. Unless of course he has put the wrong oil or it hasn't tightened the bolts from the pan hard enough and you lost all the oil. The next mechanic will tell you what went wrong.
