Having problems with your 2001 Jaguar XJ ?

Transmission A warning light turned on that read: "Transmission Failure". The car then slowed down to a crawl . . . just enough for my wife to drive it to the drive-way. The car had just comepleted a 350 mile roadtrip a day earlier, although it barely has 47,000 miles. Prior to the trip it was serviced by Jaguar. Any suggestions on the problem and whether it is major?

Answers :

The transmissions in these have several electronic components that can fail and cause this problem. My best advice is to take it to a transmission shop in your area and have them run a diagnostics. If you have an AAmaco in your area, I know that they will diagnose it, tell you the problem, and give an estimate for free.
