Having problems with your 2001 Dodge Durango ?

I was driving along and my check engine light came on in my 2001 dodge durango. When i turned off the truck while i was sitting in the parking lot waiting to go back to work the coolant resevoir sounded like it was making a bubbling noise. So i opened up the yellow coolant cap for a few seconds to let it breathe but when i was getting ready to walk back into work i could still hear that sound. please tell me what to do.

The check engine light will tell you what the problem is. You can take it to Autozone and they will put it on the diagnostic computer for free, and just takes a minute. The bubbling noise is exactly what you were checking. The motor has gotten hot. This could be caused by a few things that the diagnostic computer will not tell you. It could have a bad water pump, the fan may not be working properly, a bad radiator cap or just low on coolant.
