Anti-lock brakes activate on dry pavement

\015 Recently my 2001 Tahoe's anti-lock brake system activates when coming to a stop on dry pavement. The typical anti-lock sound is heard and the brake pedal pulsates. There are times when it feels like the vehicle is not going to stop and the stopping distance is definetly increased.\015\012\015\012Thanks for any advice you may provide.\015\012\015\012Brian\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 16-10-2017

Answers :

First, is the ABS light on? Does it come on when it's doing it? Make sure the brake fluid is full, and the brakes are still servicable, ie, pads still have meat on them. If so, the abs control module or a speed sensor might be on the way out. This is a safety issue, and I would recommend getting the truck to a good mechanic to have it checked out.
