Coolant leak my 1990 chevrolet cavalier burns coolant. i replaced the thermostat housing, thermostat, and the gasket. i can think of alot of possibilities, water pump, head gasket, or the thermostat is in the wrong way. it has been a month and it is time to fix this problem. i can see moisture on the head on the driver front side and i can see i puddle of coolant on the top of the tranny. i went over every bolt that i could see and made sure that it was tight. i dont really know were to start on

I have a 2004 Cavalier LS automatic. Yesterday, when I took off from and stoplight my thermostat needle went from the half way mark up to between the 3/4 mark and the red zone. When I turned the engine off the needle didn't go all the way back to 0 as it normally does. This morning when I started the car the needle stayed just at the half way mark, however when I turned the car off again and restarted it the needle went to the red zone and only came down to the 3/4 mark. do you think it coul

Installed a thermostat in a 2004 Chevrolet Classic 2.2L and the vehicle overheats. Did I install it backwards? There was previously no thermostat installed in vehicle, how do I know which way to install thermostat?

There is a more solid side to the thermostat, and this side goes towards the engine, away from radiator. \012\012I suggest that you get your radiator flow tested, there was a problem in the past. You must have the correct thermostat, or ... Chevrolet Classic

I have a 2000 Chevrolet Lumina 3.1 litre engine. The heater isn't working properly, it blows cold air for awhile raising the engine temperature. Once the thermostat kicks in the temp lowers which is great. I know we have to replace the thermostat, the problem is locating where exactly the thermostat is. Aloso, our overflow for the radiator and the tubes for the radiator have a red clayish looking substance in it. Is there any way to clean it out or should I just get a whole new radiator sys

It means there is an air pocket trapped in the heatercore, what you do first is start the truck and let it get up to normal running temp. , be sure to be very careful as the coolant is very hot, now you take the heater hose loose and just barely crac ... Chevrolet Silverado 1500

1996 honda accord ex (six cylinder) My engine temperature gauge will go to the halfway mark and sometimes just a small way past this half point mark. It only does this in the mid to late afternoon during the heat of the day. For example, yesterday morning I drove 135 miles between 630 and 830. I drove around the town during the day and the temperature gauge stayed low. Only when I was on my way home at 445 in the afternoon did the gauge move up. Is it my thermostat or could it be my

My 2005 chevy impala keeps getting hot. It takes it a second to get warm but once it hits the half way mark, it goes all the way to the red and start beeping at me. I get the alert of high coolant temp. i've replaced the thermostat but idk what else it could be. I've replaced the radiator and water pump earlier this year. The heat blows on and off and when it does blow, it's barely warm. HELP!

You may have a head gasket or an intake manifold leak. Have the system (radiator) pressure tested to ascertain where the leak is located. Give the tail pipe the finger test. If you smell a burnt antifreese smell this is the problem. Good luck! ... 2004 Chevrolet Impala

I have an 02 impala. Check engine light is on. Auto zone says service code 12. Engine too cold for too long. This problem is confirmed as I drove the car about 25 miles on the high way and it never got over 160F. Possible causes. 1) Low antifreez. 2) Sensor. 3) Thermostat. I checked anti freez it's good and no leaks on ground or motor. The thermostat was replaced with the water pump a year ago and the guage seems to work just fine. Does the guage on the dash use the same sensor as the bcm? If no
