Having problems with your 2000 Toyota Avalon ?

How do I change the starter on a 99 avalon

\015 My car would not start several times last week. It would just "click" and then finally start. This weekend after it finally started several times in the same manner, the last time, it kept running when I turned the engine off. The only way I could get the engine to stop running was to unhook the battery cable. Is this my starter and how hard is it to change it? \015\012\015\012\015\012Thank You for your assistance\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 18-12-2017

Answers :

Could be your starter, sounds like your starter soloinoid(pulls starter gear into flywheel) might be defective. First it will not pull gear in, then if it sticks in your car could keep starting even if the key was turned off .
\015\012without looking at the car I could'nt say how hard it would be to change. It has been my observation that newer cars are much more difficult to change
