I have a 1990 GMC Z71 4X4 with a 350 TBI 217K my problem that I cannot figure out is after giving the truck new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, TPS and vac. line, O2, Map sensor and vac. line, air cleaner gasket, fuel filter--NO EGR on motor.. The truck just doesn't want to go once it hits second and will burp through the TBI leaving the truck with very little power getting to speed. Had timing check by a local and said it was off 3- degrees, returned it back to 0, and truck ran worse. I can hea

Ive got a Daewoo lanos 2000 model that was working great till it got parked in a garage for 8 months. oil and fuel has been replaced, spark plugs and battery all good. wont run. the most success we've had is when the mechanic taking a look at it sprayed some deodorant down the air intake and it started and idled for a while before cutting out. we reckon it might have something to do with the fuel not getting where its supposed to. fuel pump works fine though. maybe computer sensors? Any ideas?
Change all the filters and sitting that long, I would check al the sensors. Take off the connections and spray them with WD 40. Check the feul line and the injectors. If it has a carburator, open the top of the carburator and clean out the jets. Make ... 2000 Daewoo Lanos
Engine is running like a plug wire is off -codes say map sensor, crk sensor, vacuum leak - did not shift into high quite right for two weeks leading up to this - plugs, wires ok - where is map sensor and crk sensor. thank you Greg w.
These sensors are in you vacume lines. You can tell which ones because they are thin black hoses with mulitple extensions on them. You are looking for components with electrical wiring running form the hoses to the vehicles "brain". ... 2006 Isuzu i-280
Map sensor Okay, I know what the map sensor is now. There is also a diagram under the hood that shows vacuum hose routing, and it shows map on the right front fender, but I didn't know what it was. (My truck runs and idles, but when I start to gain a little speed, it keeps cutting out). I unplugged the map sensor like you said to, and it slows way down, and then surges up and down. When I plug it back in, it runs normal again. You said earlier that if there were any changes when I unplugged it,
That is not a map sensor(mass air flow) it is a barometric switch also know as a mps(manifold pressure sensor) if your vehicle idles fine but when you try to accelarate. i have a question? is it a throttle body or a carburator type fuel system? ... 1990 Ford F150
93 Dodge Dakota 5.2 issuing black smoke and running rough mostly in idle. Sometimes she runs perfect. I unplugged the map sensor and she seemed to run about the same or a little worse and it shuts off when idling which does not happen when map sensor was plugged back in. I took out old plugs which were completely black (powdery black) and replaced with Champion platinum gapped at .35. Thinking it may be a vacumn or timing issue but this is electronic not rotor. am going to try fuel injector clea

When I disconect the vaccume line to the map sensor the truck idles, the part is new. It is a 1988 Chevy 1 ton pickup with a 5.7, the problem is that after I pulled a trailor with a car on it the truck died and would not idle, it loses power on take off (falls on it's face) I have replaced Fuel filter, Throtle position sensor, Idle air valve, Map sensor, o2 sensor, and plugs, I checked comprssion and it runs an average 150 through out. Somedays will idle, run and drive fine. Most days will only start with starting fluid, and once running you have to hold gas down. If you let it idle down it will quit, but when given gas is fine.
