Having problems with your 1999 Toyota Camry ?

Sometimes when my car is going about 10 mph and I put on the brakes, it acts as though the front tires are going across very rough pavement. I thought it was an alignment problem until I pressed the accelerator, but then there's a slight **** as it shifts into a higher gear and it runs fine. I'm assuming it's an automatic transmission problem. Is is serious? It doesn't happen very often.
