Having problems with your 1999 Ford Explorer ?

99ford explorer stalls at Idle

\015 Mostly when it is cold or has not run for the previous day, my 99 Ford explorer first hesitates to start. When it does start the RPM's Rev high close to 2,000 and then settles at around 500 and sputters and puts until it stalls. If I run it for a good half hour it will be fine. But for that first 30 minutes every stop light it wants to stall. Also when I go to hit the gas from a stop it hesitates just a little. I hooked up an ODB-II scanner to it because I have a check engine light and it has 3 codes, Random cylinder misfire, fuel system bank 1 too lean, Fuel system bank 2 too lean. I have an idea of the problem but i am going to fix it myself and don't want to buy 10 parts to fix one problem.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 20-11-2017

Answers :

Have you checked the fuel filter recently? It should be changed every 20k miles or so. It is very cheap to replace if you have the disconnect tool for the lines. Also try an injector cleaner that you put inside your tank. This should rectify the problem. Hope this helps. Let me know. Good luck. Thanks for using FIX-YA. P.S. if you had a code for the o2 sensors then I would have directed you to replace them.
