Oil pressure issues....when the car is cold...oil is thicker...making better oil pressure....then when the engine warms up...it thins out...in your case...enough to trip your low oil pressure switch... check your oil level properly...by checking it while engine is cold before you go somewhere...the car must NOT be running. to allow all the oil to settle on the bottom to get an accurate oil level reading. if the level is at its acceptable level then you may need an oil pump replacement... low oil pressure is bad...metal rubbing on metal with no oil = dead engine. most oil pumps are located when you remove the oil pan with newer cars. most cases pretty easy but messy..the hard part...is putting the pan back on with NO leaks. gasket sealer with a new gasket and extremely clean mating surfaces are the only way...which is very hard when oil constantly seeps out when the oil pan is removed.
YOUR OIL PRESSURE IS A LOT LESS AT IDOL, IT HAS A LONG TUBE TO GO UP, SO IT CAN READ OIL PRESSURE.. NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT, AS LONG AS IT GOES OUT AS SOON AS U HIT THE GAS.. IF IT STAYS ON WHEN U HIT THE GAS, THEN THE OIL PUMP IS GETTING WEAK.. HOPE I CAN HELP KEITH..
