For the stalling problem, try resetting the computer by removing the positive cable for 10 mins.....
\015\012If this does not work, you more than likely have a problem with your coil packs.

\015\012changing the thermostate, you always have to make sure you put the thermostat in with the spring facing down, if not it will not open, if you did put it spring down, then it is possible it was a bad thermostat, time to time they can be bad, even when brand new.
