I have a 1998 Chevrolet Prizm, the right front head light three prong connector melted or shorted out. The three leads were removed from the melted electrical connector. I removed the headlight and light bulb and replaced the light bulb, also noticed was a blown 10 amp fuse which also was replaced with a spare. And I also replaced the front left light bulb. However, on low beam, the front right beams high while the left front is low, when I flick on the high beam, the front right beam

Problem with headlights- only works on High beam. Is it possible to replace the bulb for low beam only or do I have to change the whole unit? basically, can it be repaired or do I need to buy a competely new unit. Another thing, the other headlight also packed up a week after. Does their packing up at roughly the same time indicate anything? I've a 2003 Toyota Camry XLE V-6 with approximately 94000 miles and the driver's side low-beam headlight seems to have a short in it. Low-beam goes on and off. I've replaced the bulbs (always in sets and without letting my finger touch the glass part of the bulb), however to no avail. Only the driver's side, low-beam light seems affected.

Does the bulb light or is it just real dim? If it is dim then it is a ground problem. If it is coming on and off fully then it has to be a broken wire somewhere. If it was shorting then it would blow the fuse. So it is going to be tough to find. Beca ... Toyota Camry

1997 Hyundai Accent is acting funny in the headlight department. At first my day-time running lights didn't work and low, high, and flashers were fine. Now, day-time running lights work, high beams work, and flashers work, but the low beams alternate every day or so between working, left side not working, and right side not working. I've checked the fuses, checked the bulbs, and checked the sockets for the bulbs. All are fine. What could be causing this? (Have yet to check relays.)

I doubt it's a short. It sounds like an open circuit. You'll have to trace that circuit back until you find a spot where circuit is broken. I use a test light. It could be right at the headlamp socket ... 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche
