Having problems with your 1998 Ford Expedition ?

I have a 1998 Ford Expedition XLT 5.4L Triton V8 with 122,300 miles on it.

\015 I have loss of power and just replaced the serpentine belt. There is a whine when pressing the accelerator that I just noticed today while driving at highway speeds. Additionally, there is a loud noise that sounds as it could be an emissions leak from the manifold. I can best describe it as a popping noise that occurs when the acceleragtor is depressed and increases in volume as it the accelerator is fruther depressed. The bigger issues I seek answers to is the loss in power, and the popping noise. It is not coming a steering popping noise to be clear. I service the vehicle myself but am stumped on this one. I cannot visually see any separation in the exhaust pipes, but the manifold is not exactly easy to inspect, either. I know this vehicle has issues with the plugs becoming ejected or unseated and I will be inspecting them this weekend. I fixed a slight cooling fluid leak that was dripping into the exhaust and, as was identified by the heavy white smoke from not being able to burnt off when the vehicle was started. Any ideas or information is GREATLY appreciated. I am a veteran and this is my only means of transportation and as the sole income provider, I can ill afford any time off or a breakdown. Thank you all and best wishes for great running vehicles!\012I can best describe it as a popping noise that occurs when the accelerator is depressed and increases in volume as it the accelerator is further depressed.
