Assuming that you still have some gas in your tank. You can check the ignition systems in your car. This will start from the ignition coil to the distributor cap. At the distributor, check the rotor for carbonization, this must be cleaned. Check the spark plug cables for cracks. And finally the spark plugs, for burnt out. It may need replacement.
Before checking the ignition system, check the gas
lines going to the carburetor, it could be clogged or
broken. No gas fuel going to your carburetor will also
make your engine stop.

My Isuzu gas gauge does not read well sometimes it says the tank if full while it is only a quarter, sometimes it says its empty when there is gas and it continues fluctuating and you never know what the problem is. One thing i noticed is that after travelling for sometime when I open the gas lid, there seems to be some air pressure coming out, it looks like the tank is being pressurized during driving.

Car stutters like it's starving for gas. Have a few issues that I could use help on. 1. Car runs great in the morning (1 hour drive). In the afternoon on my way home (about a half hour in), it starts to bog out when I declerate and then try to get back up to speed. Feels like it is starving for fuel momentarily. 2. Only can get the car to run when there is over a half tank of gas. When we cleaned the tank out a few weeks ago, it worked below half a tank, but only for 2 fills. 3. Car has a hard t

Stop at gas station after driving 250 miles in my 2000 s10 extreme and pump shuts off like tank is full after 3 gallons of gas go in...should take 11 or so gallons. Also gas gauge stays on full and will drop off to empty and pop back up to full no matter how much gas is in the tank. Gauge usually stays pegged at full for the most part. The gas gauge has been this way for many months without the gas fill up problem which is my main concern just thought it might help with the solution.

I was recently given a 1987 Mazda 323. Everything seemed to be fine until one day. HAHA. My grandparents gave it to me with a full tank of gas and the gas gauge seemed to be in good working order until, I got below half a tank of gas. The dial is analog and like I said works fine until It gets below half a tank and then it just either goes up and down real slow or sits below empty. It goes to empty every time you turn the car off anyways and shows up when you turn the car back on. I have taken i

Hi, I have a 2001 GMC sierra 1500 4x4 5.3liter engine. I filled up the tank, and topped it off. Gas started to pour out of top of tank. Not where the gas cap goes. On other cars, I would top off, and no pouring out of the gas tank, but from gas cap. Could the gas tank be cracked? Then I drive home, park it for 2 hours. Tried to start it and nothing. Lights go on, gauges work, power everything works. But doesn't crank on. Each time I try to turn it on, I could hear the fuel pump working. Could it

2004 chevy trailblazer LS EXT. My gas gauge is not reading the gas amount and it keeps moving. Gas level can be at half and as I drive it drops but when I stop it moves back to half. Fill it up to where it leaks out and soon as I drive it slowly moves down and the up like a see-saw. What's the problem?

This sounds like the fuel level sensor in the gas tank is going bad, or there is a bad ground at the tank. A technician using a scan tool can monitor the actual fuel level data to verify.Another possibility is a bad stepper motor in the instrumen ... 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

2008 DTS gas gauge shows more gallons used than on board computer read out.. OBC shows 7 gallons used.. fuel gauge shows half full... While driving my battery dropped down to about 10 volts. Then the temperature light came on. Then the gas gauge dropped from half tank to quarter tank within a couple minutes. Then when i turned a corner it died on me. Then it wouldn't start. It would try to turn over but it wouldn't. So I went to go get gas because by the time it died it was on empty. I put in less than two gallons and it started up fine and then it went up to half full. What could be causing all of this?

When the fuel gauge reaches half or less, the check engine light comes on and stays on until tank is re-filled. Also when filling the tank, the station gas pump shuts off about 5 gallons before tank is full, it has to be manually "clicked" for about 10 minutes to completely fill up tank. If thats not enough, when driving uphill, fuel gauge drops to empty until leveling off again.
