Yeah you probley have air in the coolent system try letting it run untill the temp is about 195 degrees and then cut it off lwt the water **** down and out mor in and do it over untill you got heat
Remove the cold line see if there is return flow the heat you feel could be just radiant heat.if you have flow might have been air bound. if not check heater core could be plugged with rust etc. or switch lines reverse flow to get it unclogged.

The heater on my 2001 Hyundai Accent is not working properly. Sometimes I get hot air, sometimes I don't, sometimes mist and a funny smell come from my vents. Also there are times in which the thermostat gauge will go high, as if engine is overheating and then goes back to normal? I have been told it might be the heater core, what steps can I take to troubleshoot and make sure it is the heater core and not something minor? If it is the heater core, how do I access?

97 Buick skylark w/3100 v6 engine has a water leak from the back right side of the engine after it warms up. The hoses from the engine to the heater core that I thought were the problem are fine. Water looks like it is following the frame and drips out of the frame near the end of the tranny. The water pump and radiator were changed during the summer. All radiator hoses are dry and tight. I can not see where the water is coming from. When I feel the back of the engine it seems dry. The leak seem

I have a 1992 Bonneville with 250K miles on the 3.8L engine. Everything works except heat from the heater core. One side of the coolant line going to the core is hot, the other cold, so it's clearly a flow issue. Yes, the door is in the correct position for heat. I've changed the heater core, water pump, thermostat, blead the system, flushed and refilled the system and nothing works. Last week when I changed the pump, I all of sudden had heat, but it only lasted for a couple trips, then back to

I HAD THIS PROBLEM AND REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT, BUT THE TRICK IS TO OPEN THE BLEED SCREW ON THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING, AND FILL THE ENGINE WITH COOLENT UNTIL IT RUNS OUT OF THE BLEED SCREW. (CLOSE THE SCREW THEN) NOW THE ENGINE WILL HAVE THE CORRECT AMO ... 1996 Chrysler LHS

I have a 1998 ford f-150 and no heat. i have replaced the heater core, blend door and control switch. checked the blend door motor- works fine. have tryed 3 thermostats. when i replaced the core i back flushed both lines with no problems. now when the truck warms up the thermo opens and top rad hose fills with pressure and becomes hot. but both hoses going to the core are only warm not hot like the front hose. coolant level is fine so is water pump. thought of a heater control vavle but after re

Hi,iv got 2002 jaguar s type r last week it started leaking engine cooling liquid from back of engine above gearbox i tried evrything to see where it was coming from but couldnt find out so i assumed it leaking from engine core plug so i put in radiator seal liquid. it stoped water leak but i am getting hot air in from the heater. its blowing in barely luke warm air its more on cold side than warm. it was all fine before cooling water leak, could be air lock inside heater system. please could so

94 Subaru lagacy 2.2L. The radiator is using water, but I don't see where it is going. I filled the overflow full, run the engine at fast idle for 15 min. Then check the overflow and its almost empty. No excess water coming out of exhaust(except for usual exhaust smoke), no leaks in hoses, no leaks in radiator. Took it for a short drive, when I returned, I checked fluid level, had to put almost 1/2 gallon of water in. The heater core isn't leaking either. To loose that much water, you woul

Could a water pump be the reason my car is still overheating after the radiator has been flushed, a new heater core, and a new thermostat. My mechanic says that the anti freeze isn't circulating. After all of these steps my heat is now coming on very hot but then it gets back cool, and the fans are coming on and off by themselves when the car starts to overheat. My mechanic also says that it's not the head gasket because the car , which is a 2002 cadillac deville doesn't have white smoke coming

Replacing water in radiator on a daily basis, have no heat. water only seems to go down 1/2 a liter or so, however, whether it's (1) day or (two) days. haven't seen water on ground. truck has never over-heated, and otherwise don't think it's gasket or anything. also, have noticed mist coming from dashboard occasionally. i believe it's the heater core, please advise

Based on what you wrote, I believe you are correct on the heater core.Generally you won't see coolant on the ground but you will find that the passenger floor is wet. The part about not having heat is strange though as even if it's leaking it should ... 1994 Dodge Dakota Club Cab

Ruptured/cracked heater core hot water tube (metal tube) is leaking very badly. I need a workaround/fix. The heater core blew several years ago and I bypassed it by connecting the heater core inlet hose to the heater core outlet hose... but now the heater core hot water inlet TUBE (metal) has ruptured. I'm not sure what type of connection exists near the water pump going into that tube (grateful if someone knows and can tell me)... but am hoping that perhaps I can just disconnect the hot wat

2000 Xterra intermentantly overheats (temp gauge goes up) no leak appears present. Coolant level appears correct. Heater will blow cool air, then start blowing hot air. Temp will then come back to normal. Is this a bad water pump or problem in heater core?

Sounds more like the thermostat may be failing. generally a water pump starts leaking out of the "weep" hole in the casting before it quits. just look at the front of the water pump for a greenish streak or an obvious leak.\015\012if you also ... 2000 Nissan Xterra

2 years ago I had the heater core replaced in my 99 Durango. now the heat is little to none. When the fan is on low and you are driving there seems to be good heat coming out of the vents, but when you stop or turn up the fan the air coming out of the vents gets cooler. I think it is the water pump, but my husband says if that were the case then the temperature gauge would go up. Please help!!!!! I am not a cold weather person.

Overheating The car just started overheating recently, it is not the waterpump, thermostat, heater core, low coolant, clogged radiator, temperature sensor, dragging brakes,a/c compressor, cooling fan, fuses or relays. the car gets hot when going up hill or accelerating (50mph or higher) and cools back down when going down hill or driving slow (under 50mph) I squeezed the top hose and I have circulation, the fan comes on automatically, I can hear it running but cant check it while driving so I thought it

I have a 1995 dodge caravan with a 2.5L 4 cylinder engine that I have replaced the water pump on, I still have a antifreeze leak that I cannot find which is around the back of the engine. I an unable to see under the manifold were the heater hoses go to determine if this is were the leak is coming from. I would also like to know if I do away with the metal pipes for the heater hoses and utilize rubber hoses instead would there be any problems and could this be the problem leak that I cannot find
