1990 Honda Civic Hatchback, 1.5 EFI, runs great but smokes like a chimney. Its burning oil but doesn't leak. Changed head gasket, but no dice, didn't solve the smoke. After changing head gasket I noticed a considerable amount of oil in air intake tube between air filter and throttle body. Trying to figure out why oil is being (blown, or sucked) into intake. Compression is 152, 145, 140, 150. Bad PCV valve? = To much pressure in crank case causing oil to blow into intake tubing from valve cover?

Did you put Valve seals in the head???Other than that the PCV is a good start...But it sounds like the oil rings on the pistons to me. ... 1990 Honda Civic

1983 Ranger Water. Where else can water get in my oil besides the head or it's gasket? Both of mine are fine but water finds it's way back to the oil. I've changed the oil twice since I changed the head gasket. Would my intake or block be bad?

Could there be possible oil leaks using old head bolts? I just changed the head gasket, oil pan gasket, and valve cover gasket. The leak seems to be coming from under the cam gear and under the distributor. I've researched some and could possibly be a shot oil pump. Please help!

I always use the old head bolts. I am careful to make sure they go back into the EXACT same holes they came out of though. Did you do this? Some engines have different size head bolts. I don't have a lot of experience with Hyundai products. ... 1999 Daewoo Nubira

I have a 95 hyundai scoupe which i use for work, to and from. That is only a ten minute drive. I have noticed white stuff on the underside of the oil cap and inside. No white stuff is on the dipstick and when i had the oil changed 1000 k ago the drained oil was normal. I have just replaced the pcv valve, but the check engine light has just come on. What can i do? Is it the head gasket or something else. I don't want to replace the head gasket only to find that it wasn't the problem. What

Jetta continues to overheat despite changing the water pump, 2 thermostats, radiator, and coolant temp sensor. Seems as if the coolant is not circulating at all through the system. Radiator continues to stay cool as well. The only other problem I could think of is the head gasket, but there doesn't seem to be water in the oil. I know that water doesn't have to be in the oil in order for the gasket to fail, but what do you think the problem might be? Is it possible that a blown head gasket can pu

Oil not lasting to next oil change. I have the oil changed every 3,000 miles at the dealership where I bought the car. For the last two years I have been forced to add oil before the 3,000 maintenance oil change. The head gasket also blew 2 years ago and was replaced. What's a girl to do?

Coolant Problems I've been doing extensive work with my 1999 Ford Taurus 3.0L OHV. I have replaced all engine gaskets from the head gasket up, the front bank cylinder head (#'s 4-6)- the rear bank head only had a maximum of 20% leakage on the leak-down test and showed no signs of warpage (used a feeler gadge and razor blade set at a myriad of angles and positions to check). We have changed the timing chain, front engine cover gasket (timing gasket), front oil seal, water pump, radiator cap, flus

I have a 99 Saturn SL2 with 180,000 miles. I have "slime" in the oil when I take off the Oil cap. I also burn through 1 quart of oil every 1000 miles. I change and flush my oil every 3000 for the life of the car. (I drain the old oil, fill it with cheap oil, run the car for a a few minutes, then drain and put in good oil and filter.) It looks good when I first change the oil but the slime always come back. I fear a head gasket, and other ideas?

When I bought the car, the previous owners put a head gasket. He didn't tell me that he broke two bolts (sp? I'm a woman) in each end. When we drove the car, it began leaking from the two corners where the bolts were broken. That's what overheated the car. My son didn't put any water and it overheated the car. We had it repaired and the mechanic put a new head gasket and put two bolts in each corner and had it fixed. He put it altogether. The repairman also changed the oil, put some new oil, and

I don't think it has too much oil. I had the oil changed and put to proper levels. I just drove it around the block and the smoke and smell was extreme. I was going to purchase Red Angel A/C seal which is suppose to seal the O rings and if that didn't work follow up with their sealant for head gasket and block. Yesterday, I just got my Acura Integra out of an oil change and fuel filter change from Jiffy Lube. Drving off the lot, the car rode very rough (sputtering), then it cut off after about a mile. And it could not restart. Upon inspection, saw that 2 of the spark plug wires were not connected to the distributor cap, and also saw pool of oil all inside my spark plug wells. Seeing from other posts that leak in head gasket, and what not, but could an oil change have brought this on?

No, and oil change does not cause this problem as oil change places only change oil, air filter and they will ad fluids, oil, pwr steering fluid, brake fluid and washer fluid. They do not do spark plugs/wires etc.. It was more then likely a pre exi ... 1993 Acura Legend

I recently replaced head gaskets on a 4.7 engine. After completion we noticed that the oil pressure drops off to zero after running for approximately 15 minutes at normal engine temperature. The pressure stays up while engine is cold. We changed the oil to a different weight, since the same problem. We pulled the pan, no slug build up. Changed the oil sender, no changes. Removed valve covers and rechecked timing marks on cams...no problems. Any suggestions or advice would be helpful. T

I need to replace the oil pan gasket on my 2000 pontiac montana. i was able to remove 10 bolts from the top of the oil pan, but noticed some larger bolts on the sides of the oil pan (4 total). do those need to be removed as well? Is this a project that someone with little auto repair experience (oil changes, brake replacements, etc) would be able to do?

Yes,remove those bolts as well, the way I always approach a job like that, which I've done hundreds is always better to take off more than not enough, just look around the oil pan and look at the gasket and see how many bolt holes it has, that should ans ... 2000 Pontiac Montana

My 96 Suzuki Sidekick JX has been leaking engine oil.
