1886 Dodge Ram 1500 Club Cab V8 (318) Vaccum Leak

\015 When I am holding speed as in going up a hill with my AC on recirculate, I notice that the defrosting air vents close up. We I let off the accelerator, I hear this flap (just once) of the same vents opening back up again. AC coolant is fully charged. Could this possibly be a manifold intake leak? Thanks. \015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 23-10-2017

I experienced almost the exact same thing in a customer's 1997 Dodge Caravan this week except on this one,the A/C would be blowing cold out of the vents, directly at you,and when you put the accellerator down pretty hard, the vents would cease to blow, but you could hear the defroster door flap, and the defrosters blew cold air.Let off the gas pedal,it switches back the way it originally was.Wasn't the customer's complaint, but it did make me wonder.
The issue with this problem is the reserve vacuum tank has a leak. When the engine accelerates it needs the vacuum that it can supply. There is a reserve tank and a 3 way valve that permits the other functions(heater a/c) Normally a plastic bottle. The vacuum lines will show you where to find this. Use a vacuum pump to verify this bottle leaks.
