Having problems with your 1997 Dodge Dakota ?
1997 Dodge Dakota with 3.9 V-6 Temp gage reads 200 degrees
\015 I had a mechanic check , he found that the sending unit was sending the correct temperature to the computer, but the gage reads 200 degrees all\015\012the time.\015
The gauge is most likely bad, remove the cluster from the dash and make sure the connector is secure,if it is,replace the temp gauge,it will be a dealer item,or a salvage yard, but make sure the connector to the cluster is in god shape and making good connection.
BTW the easiest and cheapest way of fixing that is to go to a breakers yard and get another instrument panel, it will be way cheaper than from any other source. And for a small fee they could also install it.
