Suggestion for Headlight Replacement

\015 Hi,\012We purchased our car a couple of weeks ago and have discovered that the low lights are really terrible. We would like to change them out but worry about what lights would be the best for the vehicle. The current lights are just too dull and barely provide any nighttime driving benefit.\012With safety for us and other drivers and for the vehicle, we'd appreciate any suggestions you could provide on the best replacement bulbs for our make and model of car.\012Thank you in advance,\012Brenda\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 22-01-2018

I plan to remove the battery, the rad overflow and then get to the bottomof the headlamp to remove the screws. I'm concerned they may not turn after being installed for so long. Suggestions?

To remove the entire headlight assembly (not just the bulbs), the bumper has to be removed. There are two large nuts below the headlight assemblies (you'll have to remove the battery and overflow tank to get to the one on the passenger side), severa ... 1992 Honda Accord

Hello sir. I have a 95' Buick Regal. Whenever I turn the headlights on the rear brake light fuse blows out and the tail lights stop working. The headlight switch has already been replace with a new one from the dealer. Any suggestions on where to start looking would be helpful. I read one of your solutions that said to check the power leads to the headlight switch and was wondering if you are still able to upload the wiring diagram. Thank you.

Well, yes, look for damaged and grounded running light and brake light wiring, start at the tail light itself, I usually use a circuit breaker in place of the fuse, for diagnostic purposes and then follow along the wiring with an inductive amp meter. ... Buick Century

I have a 94 f250 7.3l diesel truck. I had the headlight switch burn out, melted connector blork, about a year ago. Replaced switch and plastic connector block with original Ford parts. The headlights quite working again last night. All other lights are working. The connector block has a small burn, which i assume is from the connector that is directly controls the headlights. Any suggestions? Please help.

You will probably have to replace to connector blocks again, are they touching anything that gets warm. If they are try cable tying them out the way. If this is not the problem then you have got too much electric going through the connector box wh ... 1987 Ford Bronco II

I replaced the headlight switch in my 2003 Jetta 2.0L with one that has fog lights (original did not have fog lights), but the headlights still don't turn on. Is this switch compatible? If so, any suggestions on what to try next?

First I would check your fuses to ensure none are blown, second as long as your switch is wired correctly for the headlights and not the fog lights and is rated for the voltage and current capacity it should work just fine, third get an electrical te ... Volkswagen Jetta

Headlight problem: 84 Toyota SR5 4wd wagon. When I got the car the high beams didn't work. Replaced both bulbs, still didn't work. Returned bulbs and replaced again, everything worked. A few weeks ago the high beams stopped working, both together. Tonight the low beams just died too. There is a large relay makked "HEAD" in the balck fuse/relay box under the hood. It was warm, which would seem to suggest the steering column switch works. Does somebody know what's going on here ?

Have you tried replacing the relay as the internal contacts do eventually get to a point, because they switch latge currents, where they do not make a proper contact ? From memory,Toyata vehicles of that decade , the headlight relay was used to swit ... 1991 Toyota Tercel

Hi, My name is Daryl Schmidt...I have a 1996 Dodge Neon and my headlights and park lights have quit working. I am wondering how do I get the know out out of the switch to replace it with the new one? Any suggestions? You can email me back at [email protected] Thanks, Daryl

It could be the switch, but it also could be a relay. A relay is a lot easier to replace than a switch, so I would check this first.\015\012\015\012Most relays are in plastic boxes under the hood. There should be diagrams either on top ... 1996 Dodge Neon
