Blower motor resistor overheats and fried connector to blower motor on 2001 Grand Caravan. Replaced resistor once new one fried connection. Saw review online that the resistor diode may be the culprit. Have same rely fuse and blower motor in van. Also, can this fry the blower motor and should I replace relay with resistor. Would appriciate any advice/help. Thanks

You should be replacing the blower motor with the resistors. If your buying the parts from the dealer an experienced parts person will insist you replace both at the same time. The blower motor is usually what burns out the resistors. ... 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan

Rear AC/Heat Blower on my 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan only blows on high. I assumed the blower resistor is out and purchased the replacement for the rear blower from the dealer. Where is the rear blower motor resistor? How do I get to it to replace it? Someone told me it might be a part of the motor itself requiring a whole rear blower motor replacement. If this is true, why would the dealer sell me a resistor module for the rear blower?

I have 2002 infinity I35 and the blower motor stop working ,I took out the blower motor to make sure was good. 2004 dakota - blower motor quites. I replaced the resistor twice. then the motor and resistor. The "blower motor common driver" ( No. 2 wire) connect keeps heating up and melting. The last time I bought both motor and resistor from a dodge dealer. The first two times the wires justed heated up and melted at the No 2 connection. The last time I heard like a "arching" and when I took the resistor out I could see it was starting to melt.

I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. The blower motor only works in the High position. I replaced the blower motor resistor, but it didn't help. Shot the wires with a meter and get 11.8vdc through the resistor pack on High, and 10.2vdc on switch positions 1-4. I would have expected to have varying voltages on each fan setting from the resistor pack and into the blower motor. No shorts to ground or each other in the voltage wires. Very odd problem as the fan will run with 11.8vdc but not wi

I would check all fuses associated with the HVAC, if all fuses are good and you are sure the new part you bought is good then the problem would be in the control unit. ... 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix

Heater is out, apparently motor blower is out. Took to local shop where they replaced resistor. They advised not to run heater as it may damage new resistor. And, to order new motor blower. AS a test, i turned on heater for a few seconds and it seems fine. question: If motor blower works after new resistor, why replace?

2000 impala. ac/heat not blowing out at all. Replaced the blower motor resistor(brand new) and blower motor(used) and the only difference was an audible click when turning the blower switch from four to five. Hooked the resistor back to my original blower motor and it cam on(only on setting 5 and then barely moving) for just a sec then went off again. Results were repeated a few time but only for a few seconds and then that stopped too.

2003 GMC Yukon XL - same as Suburban ("Rear Blower Motor / Fan Not Working") I got 12V actually 13V at the Orange wire in to the resistor. The blower motor 2 wires come from this resistor. I changed the resistor thinking that was the problem and still same thing. The resistor has 3 wires going in Orange that has 12V, Purple in the middle and Black Ground. I looked for a rear blower fuse - in the engine compartment and it is not labeled? Any sugestions where to start or look next?

Third blower motor resistor and blower either keeps running or nothing at all. Took out control panel (HVAC) tested all connections and they are fine. The blower motor relay is working also. Leaning towards a short wire but when all wires test out okay I don't know where to lean to next. Also noticed my ignition is very touchy and not working like it's suppose to. I have a 2000 4dr alero 3.4 v6. heater blower not working all of a sudden. checked all three fuse panels, pulled the resistor and blower motor, ran 12v direct to the motor, it works fine, don't see any scorch marks on the resistor. when i turn on the blower switch on the dash i can hear an audible click, as well as when i turn it off. any way i can test the resistor ? or could it still be the dash switch ?

The blower motor in my 2004 Endeavor stoppoed working so I replaced the resistor. It worked then for about an hour then again stopped working. I took out the blower motor and jumped it directly from the battery and it worked. I am being told by a family member who is a Honda mechanic that it is still probaly the fan motor that is shorting out the resistor. Sound feasable or could it be that the new resistor was bad.

I first would suspect the relay! Most common, Could be bad switch. If motor is bad, it would be loose. You could move it loosely on it's shaft. It would normally make a slight scratching noise but not always the case. ... 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor

The blower motor quit working on my 96 impala ss . It seems to be a common problem but I keep hearing about blower motor resistor . I don't know how to check the resistor or if the motor is not turning would it just be the motor itself .

It could be any of several things--fuse, switch, resistor, motor or wiring. Always check the fuse first. It may be in the engine compartment fuse box. If not the fuse, you have to troubleshoot to be sure which part is bad. Your blower may be acce ... 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS

The blower on my 2003 Ford Expedition won't run, not on low, med, or high; not with A/C or heat. I've looked on line and found the likely cause(s) are bad blower motor resistor, blower motor relay, or the blower motor itself. I'm fairly handy (though an amatuer with cars). I'm planning on replacing all three, but I'm having trouble locating them. I've looked under the dash on the passenger side (and also behind the glovebox. If my A/C doesnt blow air at all, do I just replace the motor or resistor? --Sonia
