Having problems with your 1996 Chevrolet K3500 ?

My truck stops running going down the road, it is not the alternator, I just replaced that. I replaced the fuel filter and air filter. I put Power Service in it. It does not do it everytime I use. It is a 6.5 Turbo Diesel. If I catch it in time and put it in neutral and step on the accelerator it will catch and stay running. Any ideas as to what it could be?

Have truck checked with scanner..look for codes 1235 or 1236 dtc 035 or dtc 036...if has any of these codes replace injector pump

I have a 2005 gmc w3500 with a turbo diesel engine. it seems to lose power at certain times and will not go over 30 mph. if you turn the engine off and restart it will run for an indifinate period of time just fine. we have replaced the fuel filter and it seemed to work for a short period of time but now when we change the filter it doesn't help. any ideas?

I had the same problem with my 2002 w3500 and what it ended up being was the butterfly valve for the exhaust brake which is located in the intake just as you take off the turbo line, disconnect the vacuum line on the actuator that goes to that valve ... GMC W3500

Engine runs smooth but at times it will shut off completely but then within seconds it will catch back up and be running again. Sometimes too it wont start until about the 5th time you turn it over. Have replaced fuel filter. Check engine light is not ever on so would it help to have it put on a computer?

Yes. scanning can help save time & money it is most likely the crank shaft sensor ,and will eventually quit re starting,so you should git it scanned or you will be at the least inconvenienced,hope this helped. ... 1999 Dodge Avenger

Hello, I have a bobcat mini excavator. Mitsubishi motor.. if I was to guess the year its maybe a 2001 or up.. it has a little over 1400 hours on it. Oil & filter was changed at 928 hours... While it was running it started smoking from exaust & oil was slightly spraying coming out exhaust.. we noticed the turbo had gone up. Keeps stalling Feels like I am running out of gas. First felt like the Rav started to "hick-up", then stalled out as I was coming to a stop. I started it up one morning, it was running fine 4 minutes later it ran out of fuel and died. Replaced fuel filter, checked for water. Fuel supply pump not Priming fuel filter assy. I put 5 gallons of regular gas in my 99 dodge diesel which had about 5 gallons of diesel. I drove about 15 miles and the truck quit running. Runs rough. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, timing all accounted for. Fuel filter replaced but not stopped up. No trouble codes. So, assuming all sensors working properly. Fuel leaks over the top of the one of the plugs on the TBI. Like it's coming right out of the wiring harness. It leaks over the side and goes down in to the "bowl". I think it is flooding out... Causing the "rough" running. Also, the truck idles up enough to "bark" the tires every time I put it in gear. ?!?!
