OK first pushing the "gas" all the way down does nothing except when theTPS throttle psoition sensor is all the way open it shuts off the fuel injectors and this is called CLEAR FLOOD. When the truck does start is there a lot of thick black smoke?
\015\012The most common proble with the Vortec engineis the "spider" assembly under the plastic intake plenem. the fuel is delivered to the injector assembly the injectors are actually "poppets" on the end of plastic tubing that are fed through a fuel distributor assembly the fuel tubes often fail and get brittle and leak causing a righ condition which is why you need to hold the gas down to the floor. you are going to need to change the "spider " assembly and the fuel pressure regulator at the same time. this is your problem its so so common to the vortec engine. Now GM is the only place you should be trying to get these parts aftermarket will not work as well an could cause a fire. Gm will come with all the necessary parts to install it ONCE, and go ahead and buy intake plenem gaskets at the Gm Supply to while you are there Last I knew the "spider" and fuel presssure regulator were about $550.00 here in Seattle plus Labor to install
\015\012Hope this helps if you like this information please give me a fixya Rating I have personally changed about 100 spiders in the 14 years I owned my diagnostic repair facility here in Seattle
