Having problems with your 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee ?

Car will turn over, and ocassionally sputter, but not fully start.

\015 1995 Grand Cherokee V6 Laredo \012\012I was traveling down the highway, and the car stalled, and would not restart. Now, it turns over but will not start. every couple of cranks, it may sputter a bit, but not fully start. There is good fuel pressure at the test valve under the hood, i put in a new crank sensor and fuel filter. I have also tried starting in neutral, as well as disconnecting the battery for a few hours to reset the security system. \012\012Still wont start!! I would GREATLY appreciate some advice.\012\012Thanks!\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 18-12-2017

Answers :

If this model has a Cam position sensor, try replacing it. Also having pressure at the test valve on the fuelrail does not mean the injectors are opening and delivering the fuel.

You may be able to borrow a test light for the injector harness through the Loaner programs at autoparts stores. Or use a Voltmeter to any one of the injector harness connectors by disconnecting an injector.

If you use Starting fluid and the engine does better at trying to run, then the injectors are not opening.
