Pontiac Vibe 2003. After a full stop of the car, there is a slow lowering of a pedal of a brake. At emergency braking the brake system works normally. Front pads and rotors are replaced, rear pads and drums are replaced. The main brake cylinder is replaced. Where is a problem? Thanks Sincerely yours Dmitriy

If there are no fluid leaks than I would bet you replaced the master cylinder with a re-manufactured unit instead of new. The re-manufactured ones are fine as long as you don't mind trying several of them to get one that works. If it is re-manufactur ... Pontiac Vibe

Ok, my 2002 Dodge Neon is having brake problems we replaced the rear master cylinders and brake bad. But, the rear right drums catches the brakes when you free spin the drum with your hand at one point. We bleed the brakes and so on. Now, you can't smell a burnt smell at the back wheel after driving it. Like the brakes are not spoiling or un-engaging properly. HELP!

1990 Buick Century custom, 3.3 V6, 4 door automatic. I have replaced the linings, wheel cylinders, both rear drums on this vehicle. When the linings are tight to the drum the brakes seem to operate correctly. I have often experienced a "locking up" of the right rear brake. It seems as if the brake shoes become loose (out of adjustment).I have used the parking brake to try and "self adjust the rear linings as it is my understanding that this is how they work.Since I purchased the vehicle used I e

I just replaced my rear brake drum cylinders. I re-bled the system and made sure there were no leeks. Still no brake resistance. Thinking it might be a bad master cylinder, I purchased a new one, replaced it, and made sure everything

I have a 1991 GMC Sonoma 2Wd with a 4.3 V6. I'm having trouble with the rear brakes still spinning. I just replaced all the brake parts in the back, wheel cylinders, drums, springs, etc. I replaced a line on the rear too. The problem, is that the brakes still arent working.... at all.. the wheels just turn all the time. The front brakes seem to work just fine though. That leads me to believe the master cylinde is working. Im stumped. Any ideas?

The front brakes can still work even if the master cylider is bad, depending on the vehicle, there can be 2 to 4 brake lines comming out of the master cylinder. and up to one piston per wheel. before you replace it. put the truck in reverse "ideally ... 1991 GMC Sonoma

In my sons 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee there was a dragging grinding sound coming from the passenger rear wheel when you stepped on the brakes. I pulled the drums off and the cylinder was leaking slightly and the brakes needed replaced. I replace the cylinder and the rear brakes. I then tried to bleed the new cylinder and I am getting no brake fluid out of the bleeder valve. I then pulled the line off at that wheel and still no fluid would come out when the peddle is depressed. Any thoughts on why

When I apply the brakes on my '02Dakota only the forward brake shoe moves against the drum. Have replaced wheel cylinder but makes no difference. Both shoes move when I loosen adjuster cable. Have this problem on both rear wheels. Everything is new. Drums, shoes, all hardware. Seems to be a lot of tension on the adjuster cable. This is causing a horrific squeal in rear brakes.
