Having problems with your 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee ?

Our 1993 jeep grand cherokee (v8) with 65,000miles shakes

\015 We had our jeep in the shop 4 months ago and they replaced the dist.cap and rotor, and gasket and checked the spark plugs. \302\240We drove it on the freeway home and it was still shaking occasionally when holding a constant speed between 65 and 75mph (more like a hiccup/jolt). \302\240We were told to just ignore it because the car doesn't recognize that it has a problem yet. \302\240Now after driving it for 3 hours on the freeway this week it no longer does that but now it runs heavy, it shimmies at idle and when accelerating. \302\240what could it be and can we fix it ourselves?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 21-08-2017

I don't know if you can fix it because you don't know what "it" is yet!!! It is my opinion that any shop that would release a vehicle without verification that a problem had been repaired is not worth returning to. To do any testing, you will need d decent digital volt/ohmeter and a manual to guide you through tests. Most larger parts stores do scan tests free and also carry either haynes or chilton vehicle specific manuals. If you have a specific question, I may be able to help you.
Also check your pcv valve and the hose that's on the valve( about a foot long) I had a small tear on the base of mine and it caused just enough of a vacuum leak to shake at idle
