Having problems with your 1992 Buick Park Avenue ?

Transmissions Will the transmission from a 1992 park avenue fit into and work in a 1995 buick century?

Answers :

Depends on what engine is in each of the vehicles. Assuming that the 1992 Park Avenue and 1995 Buick Century both had similiar engines (both being a V6), then they would both be equiped with the 4T60E transmission and you should have no problems interchanging them. Any differences (if any) in the wiring or valvebodies can easily be changed from one to the other and will be fairly self-explanatory.

I have a 1995 Buick Park Avenue that has had a problem for the past 6 months. It is losing anti-freeze and oil. They don't seem to be mixing into each other and I never see it leaking anywhere. The only two symptoms that this is causing is 1. not getting as good as gas mileage as it once did. Long trip might get 22 miles to the gallon. It used to get around 27 to 28 before this started happening. 2. When you go up an upgrade you will lose the air-conditioning. Just stops working until yo

89 buick park avenue Steering column signal switch. I have 2 extra parts that I can't find a place for. From the left side came a spring type wire that is straight for about 1'', then coils around a few turns. Then from the right side came a clip type flat piece of metal that's long and thin. It's about 2'', and the flat metal was bent back 180 degrees with a littlt tab at the end that might fit or clip into something.

Sounds like a turn signal return spring and a rack pre-load spring. Go to a dealer and get a copy of the steering column and ask questions. ... 1989 Buick Park Avenue

Hi, I live in Norway where Park Avenues are rare, actually it is a Park avenue 1993, 3,8 litre. Problem #1.:It won't start. The fuel supply works perfect, the inition works. I have measured the power on the injection valves, no power. What component can cause this? Problem #2.: If if there are 6 gallons left in my fuel tank the car stops, only driving downhill. My 2002 Buick Century will not go fully into park. All the gears appear to work normally, but the shifter will not fully go to the park position and the indicator lilght stays at "R" , with the vehicle being in nuetral. When I move the shifter down slightly it will go into reverse and work just fine, as do all the other gears. Also, when it was working normally the door locks would automatically disengage when it went to park; they currently do not automatically disengage.

Your shifter cable either needs adjustment or replaced. If the shifter is stiff to move in cold weather it has to be replaced. If it moves well then you can go under the car and loosen the adjust ment and try to take up slack on the cable. If that st ... Buick Century

My 1998 Buick Park Avenue's heater only blows heat on the passenger side. Buick Dealer said it's a $1,200 part; said it needs a new heating/cooling instrument panel. They "tricked" it into opening the door - we're getting heat now. Shouldn't I just have the dealer "trick" it twice a year (season change). It only cost me $60 to temporarily fix it and find out I need a $1,200 part. Your opinion is what? Find a new mechanic?

Well obviously you do not want to put a 1200 dollar part into a 900 dollar car. When the warranty is up, stay away from the dealer they are only there to hurt you until they can sell you another car. Go to a shop which does auto air and radiator work ... 1998 Buick Park Avenue

I have 2003 Buick Century. Recently I replaced the knob for the power controls on my air conditioner. The old one had been broken for a long time and my temporary fix to it finally wore out. I've noticed that with the new knob I can only use the AC on 3 of the 5 settings. They aren't numbered but I will call them 1-5 lowest-highest. Settings 3 and 5 do not work. 1,2, and 4 work just fine. If I put a bit of downward pressure on the knob, setting 5 will go on while I hold it. I suspect usi

Have your battery tested. If the battery is good, I suspect there is something that is ON in your vehicle. You will have to find it and secure it. With the vehicle off, you can remove each fuse in turn and measure if there is any amp traveling int ... 1991 Buick Park Avenue
