My friend has a 1991 ford ranger ....when he drives it ,,it does want to shift into overdrive ...i told him that he might need to change his tranny fluid and filter...his fluid is brownish ...but the garage says that theres no metal residue in the pan ...theyre telling him that he needs a transmission processor ....i never heard of it ,,,what do you think??

I have a 91 ford F350 with a the international diesel in it.
I replaced my tranny filter in my truck and put fluid in it and started it up and it started making this trouble grinding noise and I cant really tell where is coming from this is the first time that I have changed the tranny filter and before I changed it, it wasnt making the noise!!! so plz help me
Has he changed the fluid? this might be all thats needed also can get some good additives these days to help sticking valves in transmission and not too expensive either (approx £30... $50 ?) which for the sake of this small outlay is worth the risk.
