Having problems with your 1990 Ford F250 ?

Ignition actuator F250 1990 tilt steering. How do I get a new ignition actuator into place? The old one came out easily when I tilted the steering down, but it was broken. The new one won't go into place. Please send drawing

Emissionwiz is right about timing the pinion to the rack, (this is one of the last steps) in order to get the key and lock cylinder in the right position. However I think you are referring to problems further down, right? I did one of these a few months ago and I recall a snag like you refer to. i think you might have to remove the ignition switch down on the column so the rod can be pulled up to allow you to hook the nylon slide part. The pin on the new part fits into the slot on the nylon part and when back in place in the channel there is not enough clearance for it to come back apart. By the way, how did you get the pivot pins out? Sorry, I don't have a picture, except the one in my head, and it is a bit fuzzy.
