Having problems with your 1990 Buick Century ?

1990 Buick Century before it broke down, ran till it warmed up and then acted like it wasn't getting fuel. I let it sit for about 10 minutes and it would run fine for a minute or two, then do it again, each time it ended by stalling out with backfiring through the air cleaner. Now it isn't getting a spark, and won't start, though it turns over just fine. Any suggestions?
