Having problems with your 1988 Ford F 150 ?

Neutral safety switch....I think

\015 88 F150 5.0L v8 2WD 5 speed manual:Can no longer press in the clutch and start the truck. Battery is fine. dash lights work. Amp meter shows charge. I noticed previously that I had to press the clutch in agaist the floor to be able to start the truck. How hard is it to replace the neutral safety switch? Are there schematics/diagrams/instructions available?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-06-2017

Answers :

My truck had the same problem what happens is over the years there is a diaghragm inside the clutch master cylinder it will leek so you wont get full pressure to the clutch so u take the diaghragm and pour the fluid back in the reservoir reassemle and pump the clutch a few times and that should work
The switch is located at the top of the clutch pedal assembly, above your feet. Its a little cramped, but its a simple dc two wire switch, you should be able to check it with a meter for power and to see if the switch does indeed need replacement. If thats the problem, when you see the new switch, you'll know it goes in, very easy. good luck
