Having problems with your 1987 Isuzu Trooper ?

Fuel supply troubleshooting

\015 I am looking to puchase a one-owner 87 trooper 2.3L for my daughter. Per the current owner, the vehicle has been left sitting for the last 2 or 3 years, being driven only very ocassionally. It will start if she pours gas down the carb, but will only keep running at very high RPM's (>3000), and otherwise stalls out. Because I haven't bought the car yet, I haven't had a chance to do the usual "first" things like changing the fuel filter or checking the fuel pump/relay, but I wonder if anyone else has seen this problem or has suggestions as to what might be causing it.\015\012\015\012Ken\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 20-11-2017

Answers :

It will probably need a carburetor overhaul. i would recommend draining old fuel replaceing plugs and filters and the usual and see how she runs then
