Having problems with your 1987 Ford Bronco II ?
1987 FORD RANGER W/2.9 ENGINE
\015 WILL NOT START CHANGED BOTH FUEL PUMPS GAS REGULATER PICK-UP IN DIUST, WIRING FOR PLUGS CAP KEY SWITCH STILL WILL NOT START\015
I know this is going to sound crazy, but my son's truck was having the same thing's going on... fixed alot of the same things... still nothing. sometimes i could pump the **** out of it, and keep cranking, and it would fire for a moment and then die. Some times it would start and run til it got warmed up, and then either run like ****, or just die went down to Schucks and had them test the alternator, and they said it was good... tried a few other things, and then gave up, and it sat for several months. Was talking to a different guy at Schucks again one day and he said that he thought that he remembered there being some kiind of a problem with the alternators in the same year frame... so I went back to the house, pulled the alternator out (truck wasn't running) and had them test it again... sure as **** it was weak... bought new one threw it in, and the trucks been running every since... reason for long story? I was told everything else under the sun to replace, but this was what was wrong.
Replace the inertia switch and it's plug over time the plug and switch get warm and melts plastic plug causing a loose connection that continues to get worse until the truck won't at all ford sells the switch and the plug together possibly updated parts
