Having problems with your 1985 Ford F 250 ?

Replaced Clutch, master cylinder and slave cylinder on my 85 F250 diesel. The truck shifts ok when it is cold, once it warms up it wont shift using the clutch. you have to use RPMs to make it shift. I think it needs to be bled. how do you bleed the clutch? the clutch is not disengaging all the way when the clutch is depressed to the floor.

Answers :

These are very hard to bleed, also check your fire wall for damage where the clutch master bolts up. another thing is take a good look at the clutch pedal asm, the frame sometimes wears and cracks so you loose a little pedal travel.another thing is a bad preasure plate, spring breaks on plate,
There should be a bleeder screw on the clutch cylinder. Have someone depress the clutch and hold it down, while you loosen the bleeder screw, air/ and or fluid should come out. Repeat until a solid stream of fluid comes out, tighten bleeder, release the clutch pedal. Check the fluid resevoir level.
